Notes for John MILLIRON


His writeup in the Westmoreland History follows: "He received a moderate education in the common schools of Mill Grove in Sewickley Township, and learned the trade of shoemaker with his father. He worked at his trade of shoemaker with his father. He worked at his trade and different kinds of labor until 1880, when he removed to West Newton and followed his trade for eight years. In the Spring of 1888 he entered into the mercantile business and opened a store and shoe shop in Rostraver Township across the Youghiogheny River from West Newton. He owns his store building beside his residence and a valuable lot in West Newton. He is a Republican who gives his party a hearty support."
