Notes for Daniel MILLIRON

Daniel and Catherine (Krebs) Milliron and their son migrated to Mercer County in 1825 with Peter and Catherine (Milliron) Krebs. They all lived in a small hunting cabin on Donated Land belonging to Christopher Krebs until Daniel and Peter could build a house near the cabin and the spring. (This house is still standing) Later, Daniel and Catherine procured a plot of land from Christopher at the edge of the farm and built a house, workshop and barn. (all of these buildings have been removed). This donated land was inherited by Christopher from his father John Krebs, who received it from the government in payment for his service in the Revolutionary War. This land is situated in Springfield Township (Findley Twp. after 1849) Mercer County, PA. The Post Office was Balm, PA (now Blacktown). Daniel was a carpenter and cabinet maker and he pursued these trades until his death in 1878.
