Obituary found in the Oak Ridger "Adelle Cribbs Burcham, Mother of Wanza Wingo Adelle Kenmar Cribbs Burcham, of Glen, Miss., died Sunday, April 7, 2002, at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth, Miss. A native of Logtown, Miss., she and Hughie E. Burcham Sr. had been married for 64 years at the time of his death in July 1989. They had lived in Glen since 1935. Mrs. Burcham's family said she a homemaker and devoted to her family and many friends and was concerned for the good of her neighbors. She enjoyed gardening and canning and she was active in her community. She had an active interest in current events and had voted in every election. She was an avid reader of good literature and her Bible. Her family also said she loved animals, birds and the unfortunate and regarded friends and children as life's greatest treasure. Mrs. Burcham is survived by her daughter, Wanza Burcham Wingo and her husband, Cecil, of Oak Ridge; two sons, Huie E. Burcham Jr. and his wife, Lila, of Counce, Tenn., and Karey Burcham of Farmington, N.M.; one sister, Keron Boctic of Satillo, Miss.; and four grandchildren, Corinne B. Pryor and her husband, John, of Columbia, S.C., Cathy B. Taylor and Nancy B. Stults and her husband, Thomas, all of Memphis, and Cheryl Wingo Chatham of Cordova. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Lela Bernice Burcham, who died Feb. 10, 1928, at the age of 20 days, and Margaret Sue Burcham, who died March 25, 1941, at the age of 7. The funeral was held Tuesday, April 9, in the chapel of McPeters Funeral Directors in Corinth with the Rev. Paul Valentine officiating. Burial followed at Johns Cemetery in Glen, Miss.
