Obituary dated Apr. 27, 1945: "After going overseas last August and participating in campaigns in France, Belgium, and Luxembourg, Technician Fifth Grade Kenneth Leroy Cribbs, died at a General Hospital in France. His wife, Mrs. Margaret Cribbs, was notified of his death in a War Department telegram. The official notice gave no details concerning his death, but stated that a letter would follow. The son of Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Cribbs R.D. No. 1, New Kensington, Pa., T/5 Cribbs entered the service April 7, 1943. He received his training at Camp Mackall, N.C. and Camp Forrest, Tenn. From the latter station he was sent overseas and was based in England, prior to going to France. He served with the 17th Airborne Division. The last letter received from the 29-year-old soldier was dated March 6, and stated that he was in the 'best of health'."
