Born December 13, 1906, in Plumville, he lived in Lower Burrell most of his life. He was employed by the former Jones and Laughlin Steel Corp., New Kensington for 31 years before retiring in 1968. Survivors include his wife, Mary Nina Cribbs; three sons, Blane H., James R., and David L. Cribbs, all of
Lower Burrell; five daughters, Beverly (Cribbs) Garrity, Hyde Park; Evelyn
Guido, Lower Burrell; Doris Hartman, Murrysville; Nina Lerner, Springdale; and
Shirley Cribbs, Blairsville; 17 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Blane W. Cribbs Jr.; a daughter, Betty
Eckman; and his parents, John E. and Mary Stier Cribbs...Burial was in
Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell."
