1) James is found in the Kansas 1870 Census in Montgomery Co. 2) James is found in the Ohio Census in the home of William Wallace as a farm hand in Goshen Twp. 3) He moved to Kansas with his brother, David. James served in the Civil War with Co. A, 51st Ohio Infantry. An "invalid" class pension was filed against his service record on 6/23/1880. From Colorado, his widow, Emma filed on 4/22/1922 a "widow" class pension. Apparently they moved from Ohio to Colorado. James is buried in the Evergreen Cemetery, Colorado Springs, CO. |
