Obituary excerpts: "John W. Cribbs...died Friday at 1:30 p.m. of acute appendicitis in the Armstrong County Hospital at Kittanning...The deceased lived most of his life in or near Elderton until Oct. 1940 when he moved with his family to Warren, Ohio, where a family residence was maintained at 314 Park Ave. Mr. Cribbs worked practically all of his life in the gas fields as a driller and contractor. He was a veteran of World War I, being a member of the medical corps in the A.E.F. with which he served overseas for about one year. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and the I.O.O.F. of Elderton." |
