Obituary excerpts: "Albert Reed Cribbs...died yesterday (Feb. 14, 1990) at 3:35 a.m. in the Veteran's Administration Medical Center, Oakland, after a brief illness. He was born Feb. 6, 1896, in Plumville, came to the A-K area after serving with the Army in World War I. In the early 1920's Mr. Cribbs, his father and brother built the first home on Vernon Street in the Mount Vernon section of New Kensington. After retiring in 1962 from Alcoa in New Kensington, he moved to Florida for several years. The last 12 years he made his home with a son, Edward R. Cribbs, in Pittsburgh. Mr. Cribbs was a former member of the Ar-Ken World War I Barracks and Alcoa 25 Year Club, both in New Kensington."
