In 1870 Alabama Census, Hardy is located in Colbert Co., AL. In April 1909 one of Hardy's daughters, Mrs. John Dorsey applied to become a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy at the Memphis, TN chapter 110, Sarah Law Tennessee Division. Quoting, "I was born on the twenty-seventh day of March, 1877, Colbert Co., Alabama. I am the daughter of H. O. Cribbs, who belonged to Company K, 20th Alabama Regiment, and he was paroled? on 10th May, 1865. Present address: 1956 Madison Ave., Memphis, Shelby Co., Tennessee. Remarks: The two endorsers below were in service with my father. I have a sister, Mrs. D. R. Choale who is a member of the U.D.C. at Paris, Tennessee. Signed, Mrs. Jno. B. Dorsey, Recommended by H. H. Cribbs [Harvey Hoyt], Lumsden's Battery Artillery; G. W. Deason, Co. K, 20th Alabama Regiment." |
