Obituary dated 12-22-1938: "Mrs. Catherine (Metz) Cribbs, 79, a resident of Blacklick for 50 years, died in Indiana Hospital last night. A daughter of Daniel and Margaret (Short) Metz, she was born May 11, 1859. Her early life was spent in Cokeville and Hillsdale. Her husband, C. Marion Cribbs, died 12 years ago. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Charles H. Capen, at home; a son, Ralph H. Cribbs, Blacklick; a step-daughter, Mrs. B. F. Marshall, Blacklick; and three sisters: Mrs. Mary Rager of Blacklick, Mrs. Emma Fielding of Millvale and Mrs. Margaret Goss of Homer City. Funeral services will be conducted in her late residence at 2:30 p.m. Saturday. Interment will be in Coral Lutheran Cemetery." Another source has her name as "Julia Catherine Metz". |
