1) George served with Co.I, 11th PA Inf. He took part in the battles of Cedar Mountain, Rappahannock Station, Thoroughfare Gap, etc. as Captain of unit. 2) Two pensions were filed against his service record, one on 12/30/1863 for his widow, Jane, and another on 11/28/1864 for his minor grandson, H. T. Blake. 3) George was wounded at the Second Battle of Bull Run, died at a hospital in Washington D.C. and buried at Harrold's Church, Westmoreland Co., PA. |
