(March 18, 1689 East Greenwich, Kent Co., Rhode Island) Henry Sr. gave deed to his
son Henry Jr./of his right to a house, barn, orchard, shop or hovel, with 10
acres of land, in East Greenwich adjoining George Vaughn on one side and William
Allen on the other side and butting on a highway. (Henry Jr. sold his 10 acres
to George Vaughn on Dec.5, 1702)
On Oct.22, 1718 East Greenwich, Kent Co., Rhode Island
Henry Sr, with wife Mary releasing her dower rights, sold to his son, Henry Jr.,
1/2 of his lands in East Greenwich.
Henry's(Sr.) WILL Dated 21 OCT 1732(since no wife was mentioned, it is assumed
that she(Mary Webb) had died before that date.
The inventory of his personal estate, amounting to 172pounds, 19
shillings, 6pence, was taken 26, Oct. 1732. The will was proved on Nov.4, 1732, so
his death must have occurred between Oct. and Nov of 1732
He bequesthed to his oldest son, Samuel, a double portion, or 1/3, of his estate
after debts and legacies to the seven daughters had been paid; to his four sons,
John, Thomas, Joseph, and Henry, each 1/6 of the estate, Henry to be brought up
and educated from his own portion; to the daughter Rebecca Bailey, 5 shillings;
to daughter Elizabeth Straight, 5 shillings; to daughter Hannah Waistcoate, 5
pounds; to daughter Mary Straight, 5 pounds in two years; to daughter Sarah
Straight, 5 pounds in two years; to daughter Abigail Straight, 5 pounds when 18;
to daughter Mercy, 35 pounds for her bringing up and education; son Thomas to be
executer and guardian of Henry and Mercy, and to have whole estate to pay debts,
legacies and his four brother's
portions.
Witnesses were Mary Weat, Nicholas Whitford, Jonathon Picher, and John Jenkins.
