BEING PART OF A LARGER TRACT BELONGING TO SD FLEMING JORDAN & WHICH HE INHERIT BY THE LAST WILL & TESTAMENT OF HIS FATHER MATTHEW JORDAN, DECD. AS DIVIDED & AGREED BY THE OTHER LEGATEES THEREIN SPECIFIED & ADJ: LANDS OF SD HUHGES & IS KNOWN BY THE ANME OF THE POCKET. IBID. P. 264.

Recorded the 29th day of August 1831

The last will and Testament of Fleming Jordan Senior deceased In the name of god Amen I Fleming Jordan of Madison County & State of Alabama being weak of Body but of sound mind memory & understanding do make this my lsat will & Testament. Viz

I wish my Estate kept together under the supertendance of my wife Martha during her natural life time for her benefit & the benefit of the single part of my children I wish the girl Eliza to be given to the daughter of Nelson Cartington named Martha Elizabeth after my wifes death. I wish all my property to be equally devided between my four Sons, Matthew, William, Edwin & Reuben after my just debts are paid. In Testimony whereof I hereby set my hand & seal this Tenth day of August 1831.

Codicil I further wish that XXXX the proseeds of a tract of land sold to Wm H. Moore amounting to four hundrfed dollars to go to my son Matthew in addition the tha above bequest, which has been paid by sais Moore to me.

Letter from Phillip Jordan from Monticello, Jasper County, GA states the following

Earliest Jordan Jasper County, GA
There is recorded in Clerk's office Jasper (Then Randolph) county, Ga "Bench Docket 1808-1810 March 1809 Term Judge Peter Early presdiding the following case No. "Fleming Jordan Vs Wyley Rogers & John Boswell "Strong Representing Jordan, case settled 1811 Also same Court Case No "Fleming Jordan Vs. Michael Wright - Debt Deed Book 1 p 134 Mar 17, 1808 Records that Fleming Jordan & wife Martha of Franklin County sold to Wyley Rodgers of Franklin County for $295.00 Lot No. 69 in 13th Dist "of Baldwin County. Above Fleming Jordan Evidently was an uncle of the Fleming Jordan born July 26, 1791 who came to Jasper County & settled about 1822 as the "Jasper County Fleming was only 17 years of age when above case was plead. This Jordan was the firest to be given the anme of Fleming & was the Grandson of Samuel Jordan & Elizabeth Fleming. H. J. Powell Monticello, GA
