The family may be traced on record of the Episcopal Church of the parish of Charstock, County of Dorset, England for over 300 years. On the north side of the church chancel in St. Mary's church in Truro, Cornwall, England,
"I IVSIUS FTATHER ETHUJUS ECCLESIAE RECTOR"
