In a list of Officers entitled to land under proclamation of Governor Dinwiddlie to cover the land and a list of balances due for sundry, or accounts of cliams to land under proclamation of 1754 (copied from Col. George Washington's ledger) are the names of seven man; and in this list there is the name of a Jordan, while the other six are not known.

In other materials it is stated that this Jordan is Joshua

On December 15, 1772, for service in defense of the colony, 28,627 acres of land in Fincastle County, Virginia (now Kentcuky) in the upper fork of the Ohio River and Big Sandy Creek was laid off for these men.

WAS A PROMINENT VIRGINIAN IN 1731 HE PURCHASED OF CHARLIE JORDAN A PARCEL OF LAND IN THE PARISH OF SUFFOLK AND CUNTY OF NANSEMOND, VA. THIS LAND WAS LOCATED ON CHUCKATUCK CREEK ADJOINGING THOMAS JORDAN, BENJAMIN JORDAN AND WILLIAM JORDAN, SON OF THOMAS JORDAN (VOL. 4, PAGE 229 HENINGS STATUES AT LARGE

Will of Joshaway Jordan:

Mar. 30, 1791. Nov. Ct., 1791. Bk. 3, p 175. Wife: Edey, my manner (manor) Plantation, life or widowhood: stock, cattle, furniture. Sons: Jesse; Stephen, land in Nash County, 1 negro boy; negro girl, furniture, stock, cattle, sheep, etc. ; Henry, horse and saddle, sheep, furniture, gun; Joshaway, furniture, money to buy horse saddle and 4 cows, sheep, hogs. Daus: Edey, furniture, cattle; Elizabeth Jordan, cattle, silver money to buy funiture. Exr: Thomas Sanders, Sen., Charles Coleman. Wit: John Hedgepeth, Arthur Hedgepeth, Jethro Harrison.

Cornelius Jordan, Sr. is not mentioned in this will?
