Know all men by these presents that we William F. Jordan and Asa Jordan and John Dean are held and firmly bound unto their hands the Justices of the Superior Court sitting as a court of ordinary their successors in office and assigns in the (word unknown) and full sum of $400.00 for the payment of which sum to the said court of Judge and their successors in Office blanck blank blank blank executors and administrator in the whole and for the whole sum paid by and blank blank blank blank and blank by these blank presents sealed with our seals and dated April 1849 the conditions of this whole obligation is blank blank blank blank bond William F. Jordan Administrator in this estate of Benjamin Jordan of late of said county deed which blank blank blank into the hands blank blank blank blank blank said William F. BENJAMIN JORDAN, WAR OF 1812, WO 4338. AFFIDAVIT, MAY 1, 1871, OF MARTHA JORDEN, AGE 71, ESIDENT OF HARALSEN CO., GEORGIA THAT HER HUSBAND WAS DRAFTED IN 1812. WAS DISCHARGED AT SOMERSVILLE. FOUGHT IN BATTLE OF THE HORSESHOE. AP;;OLCANT DREW TWO LAND WARRANTS. HER MAIDEN NAME WAS MARTHA SMITH AND SHE MARRRIED THE SOLDIER 12 JANUARY 1814 (MY INFORMATION STATES 1819) WASHINGTON COUNTY, GA., BY JOHN CURRY, J.P. THE SOLDIER DIED 28 DECEMBER 1848 AT HOME IN CAROL COUNTY, GA. NO EVIDENCE OF WAR OF 1812 SERVICE, DID SERVE IN SEMINOLE WAR.

THE ABOUVE WAS SENT TO ME BY MILDRED OF THE SHREVEPORT JOUNRAL, SHREVPORT, LA., JAN. 2, 1967.

SE SAID THE PARAGRAPH WAS EXACTLY AS THE ABSTRACT WAS SENT TO HER AND COPIED IN THE NATIONAL ARCHIVES, WASHINGTON, D.C. BY A PRO RESEARCHER

Even though it it stated there is no evidence of 1812 experience I was sent information that Benjamin did serve in the war of 1812, WO 4338. Affidavit, May 1, 1871, of Martha Jorden, age 71, resident of Haralsen Co., Ga., that her husband was drafted in 1812. Was discharged at Somersville. Fought in Battle of the Horseshoe. Applicant drew tow land warrants. Her maiden name was Martha Smith and she married the soldier 12 January 1814, Washington Co., Ga., by John Curry, J.P. The soldier died 28 December 1848 at home in Carrol County, GA. No evidence of War of 1812 service, did serve in Seminole War.
