From a letter written by Ramon Felipe Preciado, Hesperia, CA. May 5, 1972, to Lita Preciado:
I wrote a letter to the University of Sonora, at Hermosillo, Mexico; asking for information on the early history of the Preciado Family in that state. They answered my letter and sent some very interesting notes of the family. The first Preciado to arrive in Sonora was Cavetano Preciado, A Spaniard, who settled in San Miguel de Horcasitas in 1752. In 1782, Agustin Preciado settled in Hermosillo, then known as Pitic. In 1783, his wife, Maria Rivera gave birth to Jose Ygnacio Preciado, which I am sure happens to be your Grandfather or my Great Grandfather. The other Preciado, Cayetano, his wife's name was Maria Josefa Arambula. I took it for granted that Cayetano is the father of Auginstin and right down the line.

They gave me dates, names and Etc. of other Preciados, but most of them were born after the Preciado brothers came to California. Although there is one; Maria Carmen de los Remedios Preciado, who was baptized in San Miguel de Horcasitas on 30 April 1753. I think she was the sister to Augustin. The reason I think how they are related, I base it on the dates given forth.
