ANDERSON FIELDS Was the ancestor of a large branch of the Fields family of Northeartern Kentucky. The weight of authority and family tradition is that he was born in Raleigh, North Carolina, in 1795; married Elizabeth Manis in that state about 1818; went to East Tennessee where a majority of his children were born; and came to Carter County, KY about 1840. Some authorities claim that eas born in Pennsylvania in October 1789; removed to TN in 1804 and was engaged in farming near Nashville and that he came to Carter County KY in 1858. However this may be, the records show that his wife; Elizabeth (Manis) Fields, daughter of Seth and Susan Manis was born in North Carolina in 1794 and died in Carter County, Kentucky , November 13, 1859, age 65 years.
