States that Thomas Peyton Rubottom who was married four times, fought in the Civil War on the Union Side and after the Battle of Pilot Knob (Near Ironton, MO) and was stationed at Patterson, he deserted the Union forces. He is suppose to have joined the Confederate Army after that. Most in the area were Southern Sympathizers
Thomas was a member of Company A 47th Missouri Infantry of the Union Army
during the Civil War.
Thomas was of stricking apprearance, he had blue eyes, a fair complexion and was five feet ten inches in height. He and his brother Lafayette resembled each other.
