Obituary dated November 1975: "1974 - A. B. "OTT" CRIBBS -- CRIBBS, A. B. (Ott), age 72, 1004 Ridgewood Terrace, Arlington. Services 10 a.m. Tuesday, First Baptist Church in Arlington, Dr. H. E. East officiating. Interment Rose Hill Cemetery, Fort Worth. Hugh M. Moore & Sons.
Ex-police chief dies in Arlington ===
ARLINGTON-A. B. (Ott) Cribbs, 72, of 1004 Ridgewood Terrace, who retired in 1971 after 42 years as Arlington police chief, died Sunday in an Arlington hospital. The A.B. Cribbs Law Enforcement Center in Arlington was named in his honor. Cribbs also was recipient of the Arlington Chamber of Commerce Service Award, and the Sertoma Award for Service to Mankind. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church in Arlington. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Fort Worth. He is survived by his wife, Pearl, one son, three grandchildren, three brothers and two sisters. Dallas Morning News, 11/11/1975 ===
CRIBBS, A.B. (Ott), age 72, 1004 Ridgewood Terrace, Arlington, died Sunday night. He was a lifelong resident of Arlington. He retired in 1971 as Chief of Police of the city of Arlington. He received many awards, including Seratoma Service to Mankind and Chamber of Commerce Service Award. The A.B. Cribbs Law Enforcement Center in Arlington was named in his honor. Survived by wife, Mrs. Pearl Cribbs; son, James A. Cribbs, Arlington; three grandchildren; brothers, Olin Cribbs, Arlington; George Cribbs, Arlington; Earl Cribbs, Dallas; sisters, Mrs. Bess Pierce, Arlington; Mrs. Ruth Harrison, Arlington.
